Conrad Sittner Family
The photograph is of the Conrad Sittner family. They immigrated to the USA in 1875. From left to right: Conrad Sittner, b. 16 July 1865 in Huck, d. 30 May 1949 in Ritzville, WA (buried in Ritzville Cemetery), Katherine/Kate (Sittner) Oliver Thomas, b. 8 Jun 1871 in Huck, d. 13 Aug 1961 in Portland (buried in Rose City Cemetery). She is my husband's great grandmother. John Sittner, born 18 July 1868 in Huck, d. 14 Oct 1955 in Colfax, WA (buried in Colfax Cemetery). Margaretha or Maggie (Sittner) Nagel b. 23 Feb 1862 in Huck, d. 13 Feb 1911 in Ritzville (buried in Rose City Cemetery)
Conrad and John were the children of Conrad Jacob Sittner b. 19 Sep 1836 d. before 1875 both in Huck and Katherine Huck, daughter of Oswald Huck, b. 26 Dec 1835 in Huck, d. 11 Mar 1910 in Ritzville (buried in Ritzville cemetery). This couple had 9 children, according to the mother's obituary. Only 5 made it to the USA. The 5th child, Elizabeth b. about 1859 d. before 1900 married George Schleiger, a 3rd cousin 1x removed to Lorenz Schleiger who settled in Portland.
The marriages for all the children except Kate took place in Sutton NE. Kate was married in Portland in 1891.
