Elisabeth was born July 26, 1846 in Alt Dönhof and married Jacob Bechthold at age 23. She had two daughters and ten sons. Two daughters and six sons preceded her in death. Her husband, Jacob, died in 1883.
Elisabeth married Christoph Koch in 1885. They had two boys. One boy and her husband preceded her in death. Elisabeth came to the United States in 1904 with her son, Johannes Koch.
She died December 18, 1928 at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 25 days.
Her funeral was held on December 20th and was officiated by Pastor John J. Hopp at the Zion Congregational Church located at 749 East 9th North, Portland, Oregon.
