Prof. Dr. med. Wolf-Dieter Schleuning

The grandson of Johannes Schleuning is a world renowned doctor and pioneer in the medical field. He lives in Berlin.

The following is taken from a message from Wolf-Dieter in 2003:

"My ancestor Caspar Schleuning was one of the first colonists in Norka (arrived 1767). My great-great-grandfather founded the daughter colony Neu-Norka further to the south. My grandfather Johannes Schleuning was a Lutheran minister and served as a pastor to the German community in Tiblissi, Georgia. During World War I, he was banned to Siberia because of Russian fear from ethnic German political activity. In 1918, he moved to Germany and became a spiritual leader and public voice for the Russian-Germans in Germany."
