Artwork by Lydia Ruyle

Lydia is an artist and scholar who has been pursuing Goddess research for several decades with my mind, body and spirit. As an artist, she creates icons, sacred images of the divine feminine from the many cultures of the world.  Since 1995, the icons have become spirit banners which fly around the globe weaving the sacred energies of the divine feminine.  See Lydia Ruyle's art on her website. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Miller were two of the founders of AHSGR in 1968.

Babushka lithograph by Lydia Ruyle

A lithograph titled "Babushka" by Lydia Ruyle inspired from the photograph below of Elisabeth Pauly Miller. According to Lydia Ruyle, "The lithograph which I did in 1980 was used for a fundraiser for the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. My parents, who were two of the founders of AHSGR, travelled to Russia in 1967 and met relatives in Alma Ata who gave them a photo of Mary Elisabeth Pauley, my great grandmother. The photo was taken supposedly in the 1890's on the Russian steppes. My father's family was from Norka."
The original lithograph is 22" wide by 30" high. A smaller version of this artwork is included in Lydia's book titled "Goddess Icons: Spirit Banners of the Divine Feminine" which is available on her website and at Amazon.com.
